Getting Started with Knowledge-Building
If you teach “Dimensions of Definitions” first, you provide a base for teaching about:
*How an author defines a concept/word,
*Using context clues to determine meaning,
*Creating a Living Glossary (See Living Glossary Strategy),
*Possible Ideas (See Possible Ideas Strategy).
Words may be defined in a number of different ways. See the “Dimensions of Definitions” chart below. Change spacing to accommodate type of words/descriptors.
